The Motijheel division of the Dhaka Metropolitan etropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three more people in connection with the recent fire at a bus in the capital’s Paltan.
They were arrested in a raid in Paltan police station area on Saturday (November 21) morning. Police have claimed that the three arrested were directly involved in the incident.
The arrested are Md. Leon Haque (30), Kazi Rezaul Haque Babu alias Jim Babu (28) and Md. Azad (26).

The Motijheel Division of Intelligence identified and arrested the three after reviewing information obtained from local and eyewitnesses and video footage of media personnel, police said.
It has been said that some leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal, Juba Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal took out a procession in front of the Naya Paltan BNP party office at 12.30 pm on the same day. At one stage the procession came in front of the BNP party office and became chaotic. Reviewing the pictures and video footage and CCTV footage taken by the media, it was seen that the arrested persons from the procession along with some of their associates set fire to the government staff bus in front of the tax zone-10 located opposite the BNP party office.
On November 12, 11 vehicles were set on fire in different police stations including Paltan and Motijheel. In that incident, 18 cases were filed in different police stations of the capital. Detective Motijheel Division is investigating four cases filed with Paltan and Motijheel police stations
